Prevention of violence; Facts and myths. The aim of the study is to analyse the real possibilities of managing to live in a society free of violence. The aspects analysed are the connections among culture, the media, videogames and violent life-styles. We have started from the assumption that not being violent can be learnt. This is the aim of many prevention programmes. The goal of living in a society free of violence is a myth. Is a risky society the violent ways of life are a part of the cultural network. The desire for detecting individuals at risk for violent behaviours may have negative side effects. Here is included the analysis of some of the outstanding intervention failures inside the science of the prevention of violence.
